Overview

Translation of biomedical research to patient care has been a difficult path, fraught with barriers and a paucity of ICT solutions. Many biological database development efforts have met stumbling roadblocks in terms of data standardization and access to comparable data parameters and study conditions. Interoperability between various tools is also an important and difficult problem, closely intertwined with data heterogeneity. Moreover, many of these publicly available databases are simple unidimensional including limited sets of data and hence limiting their usefulness of formulating hypotheses around potential disease mechanisms and corresponding biomarkers.

In systems biology research there are many methods for data analysis and visualization, but many of them are difficult to use as they require a lot of coding experience. Our platform brings together easy-to-use tools accessible for all researchers with a high quality dynamic database which helps in hypothesis generation, validation and patient stratification studies. We intend for this database to continue to evolve via the contributions of the wider research community and expand the breadth and depth of quality data available in the public domain potentially leading to the discovery of new mechanisms and corresponding biomarkers of diseases. By virtue of it’s simplicity, the use of this resource is easily applicable to any disease.
